Olive 4 Years Old

Happy Birthday, Olive!
This past year was a rough one for you. A little toothless guy became the center of attention and you were unsure of what to do. You are s-l-o-w-l-y adjusting to him and I think you may even like him.
Happy Birthday Little Lady!

flash friday

Oh Friday, how I love thee.  We got to spend some time with Jeff, Robyn & Dylan last night. It just amazes me that not too long ago, oh about 8 months ago, Liam was a newborn. Tiny, fragile, beautiful and a load of happiness. It reminds you how precious life and sleep can be. In just a short amount of time, Liam  now:
snuggles with SM
Plays & screams
enjoys yummy foods
stands
knows to smile when the camera comes out
tries to figure things out
uses a sippy cup

a nice end to monday

Monday is my least favorite day of the week. Monday usually means returning to work and Liam returning to daycare. Boo! Today I got a little surprise when I picked Liam up from daycare. First, I got two arts and crafts projects Liam worked on the past couple weeks. Maybe he had some help with these projects, okay, a lot of help, but now I understand why parents feel the need to display their kid's artwork on the fridge. Then I got some really neat photos of Liam. The husband of where Liam goes to daycare is a photographer and he took a few shots of Liam. It was a really nice end to a Monday.

weekend edition

Don't even think about coming in here, Olive!

Ready to conquer the day
Weekends are really the best. We get to do all sorts of fun stuff and the boring usual stuff some how fits in there too (laundry, yard work, cleaning, etc.). Weekends are also when Liam gets to experiment with new foods. Just in case there is any funky reaction. On the menu this week was maple flavored puffs, turkey and rice dinner (pureed) and he may or may not have had a taste of an oatmeal raisin cookie.

I also think he may have figured out which one of us is "dada". Liam will usually say dada when Andrew is not around and then when Andrew appears, Liam gets very happy. I keep reminding Liam that just like Andrew and I are not suppose to have a favorite child, he is not suppose to have a favorite parent. But I guess it is good he likes at least one of us.

Splish,Splash!

Swim class was pretty great this week and Liam wanted to continue the splashing when we got back home. Not only did he splash, but he was a true boy. He got on the ground, rolled around in the grass (even though there was a blanket for him) and of course was covered in cut grass and dirt. This kid had pieces of grass, everywhere. He did not mind one bit and of course he eventually got a bath...which meant more splashing.

happy day

Happy Birthday Dylan (07/21/10)! and Congrats to new, proud parents, Jeff & Robyn! We met Dylan last night and he is a beautiful babe!  We love you Dylan, and can not wait to watch you & Liam grow up together!

I totally punked out on Flash Friday today. Sorry. I will make up for it this weekend. I promise!

addendum to 8mos.

Liam...another super exciting thing that happened this month was Dylan's arrival. You don't know this yet, but he is going to be your best friend. Knowing your dad and Dylan's dad, I can only begin to imagine what the two of you will conquer!

8 months

Happy 8th Month Liam!! So here we are, another month has flew by. You have mastered the art of crawling. Not only do you crawl, you sprint when you crawl. You have also mastered the skill of pulling yourself up onto something in order to stand. You don't care what you are holding onto for balance, as long as you can use it to pull yourself up to stand (including the dogs). Swimming "lessons" are going fantastic. You enjoy being in the water, splashing and kicking. You talk in your own little language, but it is fun to have conversations with you.  "Dada" is a new favorite word you use. You are still testing out new foods. High on the list is yogurt and whole wheat bagels.

You still are sleeping through the night (which your dad and I really appreciate!).  When we wake up in the morning, your dad and I go into your room to catch you sleeping, it is so peaceful to watch. We have been giggling in the mornings lately because we find you all snuggled up next to Sock Monkey. Still no teeth, but there is one tooth on the bottom that is pretty much playing peek-a-boo with us. We can see it, but it just really needs to pop through your gums.  You are showing a little bit of independence when you play with your toys. You look when your name is called and you even reach out to be picked up sometimes.

How much more wonderful can this get? You continue to amaze me each and everyday. You continue to make me so proud to be your mom. I can only hope that one day (in the far off future) you will get to experience the joy of becoming a parent. Maybe then you could somewhat understand how much love I have for you and how some days my heart feels like it may burst with love.

Happy 8 months, Liam!! I love you...

almost time

We are sending lots of luck and love to Liam's God Parents and our good friends, Jeff & Robyn.  Robyn will be induced today and we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of their son. I can't wait for them to experience the love and amazing feelings a little baby boy will bring into their lives.

sunny sunday

The sun was shining and we got  out of the house. We ventured down to the Empire State Plaza and checked out the Kid's Fest...not all that exciting, but we still had some fun!

pits!

Liam is a lucky boy for numerous reasons...just like I am a lucky mama for numerous reasons. But at the top of the list of why Liam is a lucky boy is this reason...BALL PIT.

it's a standing matter

Liam is a standing boy. He loves to figure out how to pull himself to a standing position, using pretty much anything.

status: big boy

Someone is growing up way.too.fast. Liam is now able to sit in a high chair while we dine at restaurants (sound so fancy...hardly). He enjoyed himself this morning when the three of us met up with Jeff and Robyn for bacon breakfast. We stuffed ourselves silly and Liam had a ball. I think he was mostly interested in Robyn because he has that baby sense...he may have been sending Baby D. some super secret messages (i.e.- hurry up and get here already...the monster trucks await!).

Liam has his first taste of yogurt this weekend, too. Yo!Baby may be one of Liam's all time favorites. He also snacked on a whole wheat mini bagel. That was pretty entertaining to watch. He munched and munched on the bagel and then would chomp and chomp his jaws.

Liam has also started to say "dadadada". Which is pretty cute to hear. I think Andrew has been trying to get Liam to say "dada" since Liam entered this world (almost 8 months ago). Here is a small video of that cute little voice.

flash friday

Big enough now to just lounge on the chair with S.M.

Someone got new sandals. Now if we could only keep them on his feet.

One. Weird. Ass. Photo. Liam looks like a middle aged man with a pot belly and comb over (but with a super sweet shirt Thx Baby D.)

Now that is more like it! Show off those toothless gums!

Liam was beyond eager this morning for breakfast.

A favorite.

Swim fun.

Morning fun!

all better

Liam had his follow up appointment this past week for that awful ear infection. His ears look good, no sign of infection or any fluids. He also is weighing 18lbs. 5oz. Next appointment is his 9month appointment...which should be a happy appointment since he does not get anymore shots until he is 12months. yay.

good morning

Waking up to a crying baby, not so fun. Waking up to giggles coming through the baby monitor, a nice way to start the day. Today was a giggle morning. I rolled out of bed and went into Liam's room. There he was, full of smiles and giggles because he was so proud of his toothless self...he finally figured out how to pull himself to a standing position in his crib. I laughed because Liam's laugh is pretty contagious, then I called Andrew in to see what Liam had been up to and then I wondered how long had he been awake and standing up in his crib.

The crib has since been lowered down.

flash friday

I slacked this week with photos....really slacked.

Liam on the other hand has been pretty busy this week. He is a great crawler and is fast at it. He has also become pretty good at crawling over to something (i.e. the couch) and pulling himself up to a standing position. Pretty impressive. He has incorporated some new sounds when he "talks". He also went swimming with his God Parents this week, too.

So as I said, I slacked this week with pictures, sorry. Until next week...

america's birthday

Today we found our favorite family spot to hang out at...the Crossings Park in Colonie. It was a great way to celebrate America's Birthday. We look forward to spending many more afternoons there!
