#3 is here! We are hoping #4 isn't too far behind!

lovey

Out with the old and in with Lovey. Please meet Lovey, Liam's newest and most favorite pal.
Lovey T.M. Gregory
Liam brings him back and forth between daycare and home. He insists that Lovey is involved in every moment of his life. Getting Liam in the bath tub last night without Lovey caused a major melt down. Lovey almost got yogurt during breakfast this morning. I am not a fan of stuffed animals and at one point I think I may have said that my kid would not have an abundance of stuffed animals...well that was all talk. Liam is all about this blue monkey. So much that I am going to try to find a Lovey #2 just in case Lovey #1 goes missing, runs away or has a devastating encounter with the washing machine.

Snuggle!

Liam sends a shout out to his peeps in England! He sends a big thanks to Jack, Charlie, Toby, Uncle Phil and Aunt Sarah for his new favorite book. He is all about farming lately and this book is perfect! Thanks!!

last week

Last week. UGhhhhhh! It was probably one of the worst weeks we have experienced in a long time. Here is a recap of the fun that we had. Fortunately/unfortunately there are no photos to share our week...

Monday: Good day. My birthday. Liam was finally feeling better after a weekend filled with tears, fevers and sleepless nights. His top tooth finally popped through. yahoo!

Tuesday: Liam woke up with a rash all over his body. Andrew took him to the pediatrician. Poor little guy had a double ear infection and a viral rash. New antibiotic, talk of looking into getting tubes into his ears and hoping that this helps the little guy out.

Wednesday: Andrew wakes up not feeling well, but well enough to go to work. He calls me around 9am telling me he is on his way home, because he has that stomach bug I had during Christmas weekend.

Thursday: I wake up feeling awful. Sore throat, exhausted, body aches and congested. I plugged along at work. Andrew was home sick and Liam went to daycare. As the day went on, the worst I felt. By the time I got home I had a fever and just  felt terrible.

Thursday night into Friday morning: I wake up with the stomach bug. Liam wakes up with the stomach bug. This moment in our life was possibly the most pathetic. I am throwing up, Liam is covered in diarrhea from head to toe and Andrew is sick and half asleep. It was a looooooong night

Friday:  Andrew wakes up with a nasty, crusty eye and still is not well. I am in rough shape and Liam was just as bad. Andrew went to the doctor and I took Liam to the pediatrician. We were unsure if he in fact had the stomach bug or was having a really, really, really bad reaction to the new antibiotics. Diagnosis: Andrew had the flu and Liam had the gut bug. Remedy: lots of hydration and rest.

Liam is doing much, much better. He is back to his old self and sleeping through the night. Andrew and I are recovering. While it would be nice to put life on pause for a while so we can recover, it just isn't possible. So we deal with what we need to do, come home, play with Liam and relax after he is in bed. This results in the house not being as tidy as I would like, a bigger pile of laundry and a lot of tea drinking. We are looking forward to feeling well again. With a pending snow storm, I hope we all feel better so we can finally build that dang snowman if we get hit with the flakes!

#31

My birthday this year was pretty great. Even though I may or may not have had a tantrum and all together canceled my birthday at one point, overall it really was nice.  It started out with a surprise visit from my mom and dad on Saturday. They were going to watch Liam so Andrew and I could have a nice dinner out, in a restaurant that did not have a children's menu. Dinner was great, but dessert was even better. We stopped off to one of my all time favorite spots, Cheesecake Machismo and I indulged. Sunday we went to brunch. I had a bit of a suspicion that Andrew had something up my sleeve and  he did. As much as I hate surprises, he planned for our friends to meet us at brunch...surprise. I wasn't all that thrilled about the surprise, but brunch was great and so was having all our friends there. On my actual birthday I was treated to lunch by my most favorite 6 month old and his mom.  #31 is off to a good start!

flash friday

A little video of what Liam discovered and Liam telling me he is "done".

snow day

We got blasted with snow on Tuesday evening into Wednesday evening which led to Liam having a snow day. This also resulted in mama having a snow day. Yippee! It was a  really great day, it could have been even better if Andrew also had a snow day, but no such luck.

Most favorite part of our snow day:

I was sitting on the floor watching Liam play with his farm. He likes to stuff all animals, farmers, trucks, etc into the silo and then pull them all out and do it all over again. Like ten times.  While he is playing, he stops, walks over to me, gives me a hug and kiss, then goes right back to playing with the farm. I suppose he wanted to just make sure I knew he didn't forget about me while he was farming. This is one of the many the fun parts of having a toddler.

mother n.

Mother Nature delivered a big gift for us on Friday night...SNOW! Saturday morning was spent shoveling (andrew), playing in the snow, going for a nice walk with the toboggan and introducing Liam to the white fluffy stuff. Even though it wasn't snowman building snow, we still had a blast!

updates

Seems like I have been MIA for the past couple of weeks. Here is a quick recap of all the fun or not so fun things that have been keep us busy:

  •  Liam loves stuffed peppers.
  • Liam had a fever last weekend and we were not able to get him out to go sledding. However, forecast is calling for a snow storm this weekend, YAY!
  • We are all eating health, fresh foods. Trying to stay away from processed food. So far, so good.
  • Me and Nordi are bonding well and the C25K program rocks!
  • Liam now says three more words: Da (dog/ Olive. or anything that is not a ball) Bal (ball, anything round or anything that he does not think is a da). Bub bub (bubble bath *my most favorite*).
  • Liam has also been very "emotional" this week. We are not sure if it is teething related or if he just has a new way of expressing himself. Whatever it is, it needs to be a quick phase in his life.
  • Liam also gives kisses. Olive is not so excited about this. We are trying to explain to L. that Olive doesn't like to be attacked with open mouth kisses- he refuses to listen.
  • We got an update from Zeppelin's human. She reports that he is doing excellent, has made himself right at home and is really enjoying being the Alpha dog. We still miss him, but are so happy to know that he is getting top notch treatment and is being loved. We hope she will send some updated photos of Zep!

     That is it for now...

resolutions

Ughhh the dreaded resolutions. I have decided to commit to keeping my resolutions this year. As tempting as it is to get off track and do what is the easiest, I am going to truly stick to my guns and keep myself in check this year. So with that being said here is what I plan on accomplishing in 2011:

1. Complete the 2011 Warrior Dash. This is in August. I have eight months to get ready to complete this challenge. The more I read about this, the more I wonder, what I was thinking?

2. To push and challenge myself. Complete the Couch to 5k challenge. Then work on  improving my time.

3. Participate in the Troy Turkey Trot. This should be cake compared to the W.D.

4.  To improve my outlook and my health.

So what are your resolutions??
