flash friday

Peanut butter. I. LOVE. IT. It is great in cookies, on toast, with celery, cheesecake, and right off of a spoon. When Andrew and I  first met he initially told me that he was allergic to peanuts and therefore could not and would not be around peanut butter. Whenever we would visit my parents they always made sure to not have anything peanut related in the house because of said allergy. Well this all came to a quick  stop when Andrew's mom sent him a huge tub of Virginia peanuts one day. Huge tub to a person who is allergic to peanuts...hmmmm. Lo and behold Andrew really isn't allergic to peanuts, he just has a major aversion to peanut butter. So much, that I swear he has a stash of rubber gloves somewhere to use when he is dishing out Olive's kong which is usually oozing with PB.  So throughout my pregnancy I ate PB& J every morning on toast. I often wondered if Liam would enjoy the PB or end up being allergic to it (dread) or have his father's taste buds. So when the time came to introduce Liam to the PB, I was very anxious that he would have some crazy reaction and PB would have to be forever banned. The kid loves the stuff. He goes nuts for a PB & J sandwich. He even loves PB all on it's own. Something that he doesn't get often, but when he does, watch out. Andrew on the other hand still continues to be "allergic" to PB.

15 months

Happy 15th Month, Liam!! You have changed SO much since you turned 1. You went from taking small steps to walking to full blown running. You loved to be chased, but love to chase Olive even more. You have added more words to your vocabulary. One that makes your dad and I laugh each time you say it is "whoa". I guess you are at the point now were we need to watch what we say. You love to eat bananas and yogurt. You have a little monkey, Lovey, that tries to go everywhere you go. You continue to enjoy reading and being read to. You love to stand on the step stool in the kitchen and look out the window (especially when Olive is outside). You can go from laughing to crying in a blink of an eye.  I go from your hero to zero in a blink of an eye, too. You know how to shake your head "no" and do it as needed. You love to play with anything that has buttons, lights up or makes noise (i.e. cell phones, remotes, Wii, blue-ray player). You love to run around naked when getting ready for the bath. You love to play with your toys in the bath and have your favorites (crabby and duck).  You use your left hand/arm to throw things with and like to use your right hand for eating. You are becoming more familiar with using utensils.
15 months

The morning moments are my favorite moments with you. You usually wake up with a smile on your face and that puts a smile on my face.  Even when you have a grumpy morning (we all have those) it still makes my heart warm to see you standing up in your crib waiting for a good morning hug.  While I love that you are growing, becoming independent and letting your personality shine through, I often stop and take a mental photo of you, your smile, your fuzzy bed head because I know at some point you won't want me to give you a good morning hug.  I am looking forward to see how much you grow and change in the next three months! I love you sweet boy!  (to the moon & back!)

pretzels

Pretzels!

One of Liam's most favorite snack is a pretzel. A soft, warm pretzel. When we venture off to the mall, there is usually a stop off at the pretzel shop to share some sinful goodness. So, this weekend we dared to make our own. And I must say, they came out pretty darn good! I made the dough (with a little help from Auntie Anne), Andrew sculpted the dough into pretzel form and Liam supervised.

wearing red

Liam was wearing a lot of red on Monday, but it wasn't to celebrate Valentine's Day. I got a call in the early morning that my little valentine was not feeling well at daycare and had a temperature of 103.5. The night before was a rough  night for all of us. Liam just did not want to sleep. I thought maybe he was anxious and exciting about Valentine's Day and was wondering if his crush would give him a valentine...hah just kidding. But he really did not sleep much at all, which also meant that Andrew and I did not sleep at all. He was whinny and just could not seem to get comfortable. So I picked him up from daycare and his cheeks were SO red and hot. I took him to his pediatrician and we were then sent to the emergency room at Albany Med. To make a long day story short Liam was  kind of diagnosed with pneumonia.  Kind of meaning that this diagnosis is inconclusive. Base on his symptoms and a small spot in one of his lungs, it could be pneumonia or it could be just a viral infection. The spot on his lung could have just been part of his lung that didn't full expand when the x-ray was taken (which we were reassured was totally normal and happens in all of us).

So after being home for two more days, getting a lot of snuggle time in, harassing Olive and being the sweet little boy he is, he is finally starting to feel better. He returned to daycare today where they has another Valentine's Day party so Liam could be part of it. He did great and is almost back to his ol' self.

So I guess you could say this is a Valentine's Day we won't forget anytime soon.

buds

Olive- Lovey-Liam
Liam and Olive have a love/hate relationship. I guess I caught one of their "love" moments. Olive really loves Liam, but it is usually on her terms. I am not sure what they were both looking at, but it allowed for a few moments of snuggling and Liam petting Olive.

new-new-news

There are a few new tidbits going on in the Gregory home. Thought I would share:

1. Mama got a new job! Yahoo! I start my new position at NorthEast Parent and Child Society on February 28th. While I am very excited about taking on this new challenge, I also am a bit anxious. Change is good!

2. We are a pacifier free home! Liam has been doing great this week with going to bed without a pacifier. That is the only time he has been using it, so we were unsure of how he would be without it at all. So far, so good. I have thrown out his pacifiers to reduce temptation to just give it to him. He has been fussing a bit once he is put down for the night, but usually doesn't fuss for too long. I think Lovey has been helpful with getting rid of the pacifier, since all he ever wants is Lovey.

mimi's

We found a new place to take Liam to on the weekends...Mimi's KidsClub . Liam had a blast and so did Andrew and I. It is a great spot for him to run off his energy, be around other kids and to have fun! It will also be a great place to have future birthday parties.
