smile
Liam's daycare did a end of the summer graduation for the older kids and all of the kids were given little awards. Liam's toothless grin earned him the "Best Smile" award. I think he was given that A. because he does have a kick ass grin B. They know how obsessed/worried I am about him not having any teeth. C. Awards must have already been printed out, because that could have easily given him the "Biggest BM" award.
not so flashy
Sorry all. No flash friday today nor next friday. Tomorrow kicks off the 1st Annual Gregory Family Vacation. I have been planning this since I was on maternity leave. We are eager and can not wait to dip our toes in the ocean and chase a 9 month old around on the beach.

huge
I picked Liam up from daycare today. I asked the usual questions: did he nap, how was he, what did he do, etc...I was then handed a plastic shopping bag that was all knotted up. I was told that Liam had a bowel movement that could only be described as being "Billy Fuccillo" in size....huuuuuuuge. In the plastic shopping bag was the onesie, which was quickly disposed of. Proud parenting moment.

9 months
I am having a hard time believing that you have been here with us for almost as long as you were in the womb without a view. A year ago today, we were celebrating your dad's 30th birthday. Today, we are celebrating your 9 month birthday.
Well as usual, you continue to amaze me. Your crawling skills are pretty phenomenal. Your dad and I have caught you on many occasions standing for a few seconds without holding onto anything. And your laugh is almost as wondrous to listen to as your heart beat was when I first heard it (especially when it wakes me up in the morning). You problem solve and do whatever is necessary (or as necessary as a 9 month old can do) to get a toy, figure out how to bother Olive or turn your mobile on when you are bored in your crib.
You still have no teeth, which is okay and it has not stopped you from trying different foods. Your hair gets curly when there is a lot of humidity in the air (which has been frequent this summer), you are constantly chasing after Olive and trying to her attention, you sit in the shopping cart and are amazed at what surrounds you, enjoy books and you love to sit in the grass. We are going on our first family vacation in less than a week and I can not wait to see your reaction when your toes hit the sand and are dipped in the ocean. You are taking right after your dad (minus the love you have for using your left hand). I can only hope you will grow up to be as impressive and talented as your dad.

dr. visit
Liam's 9 month well child visit went as well as it possibly could have gone. He is now a whopping 18lbs. 12oz and 27 3/4 inches long. I forget what his head circumference was, but it is in the 88th percentile. After I completed a dissertation a very long questionnaire about Liam's developmental skills we got to see Dr. D. She gave him a physical exam, asked me some more questions, answered my many questions and she gave us the thumbs up. Liam is doing well, physically and developmentally. Since I am concerned about his toothless smile, Dr. D. said to wait until he is one years old and if there still are no teeth to fill in that yogurt breath mouth, then she will refer us to a pediatric dentist. Next appointment is his 1 yr. appointment....one year-holy crap.
flash friday
Here are a few photos from the past week. I must admit I have been slacking with taking photos. We have only taken about 200 photos this month, while last month we came close to 800. Lame mama.

Liam & Grandpa Peter at NY Giants Training Camp August 2010 |
My house was filled with Gregory Men this past weekend. Liam had a blast with his Grandpa Peter.
The extended weekend flew by and of course did not seem long enough.
Liam made sure to show off all his new skills to his Grandpa P.
Thanks for the fun weekend! We hope Liam has some teeth next time you are here...

Happy 5th Birthday, Zeppelin!!
Today (and many more years to come) I hope you get to enjoy the following:
A nice snooze, on your nest of blankets and pillows |
A yummy treat or two or five |
To continue your love/hate relationship with Olive |
To continue to be the pug you have always dreamed of being: strong bark, strong gas and to eat that never ending bowl of treats. |

swim
This was the first swim class that neither Andrew nor I packed the camera. Of course it was the swim class that Liam and Andrew went down the water slide. I must say that I think Andrew was more excited about going down the water slide than Liam. The beginning of the class was not as exciting. The first activity was submersion. Andrew decided he would go under with Liam...funny because Andrew would go under the water, but his arms with Liam in them, would go up and above the water. So it took a few hundred tries but eventually Andrew's arms let Liam go under. As expected he was not thrilled, but recovered fast and was ready for the next activity. Next week will be my turn and the last swim class. I wonder if Liam will be able to do a cannonball in celebration of the last class...

flash friday
Today we are celebrating our 5th Wedding Anniversary. These five years have gone by sooooo fast. I look forward to the next five years, what it brings, what we learn, how we change and planning our big trip to celebrate a decade. So I thought I it would only be right to do a flash back friday of a few photos from five years ago.
08.06.05 |
Those who supported us then and still do now. Funny how in five years so much can change. Most of us now are married or about to be and some have even started families of our own. |
Happy Anniversary Andrew! Thanks for meeting me at the end of the aisle that day and saying "I do". |
