another day home
Liam seems to be doing a little bit better, but still not back to being 100%. He stayed home again today. His appetite has been little to none. I asked him today what he wanted for lunch. It went something like this:
Me: "Liam what do you want for lunch? Anything you want, let me know"
Liam: "Broccoli"
Me: " Really? Broccoli?"
Liam: "Yes, please."
Anything he wanted and he decided on broccoli. Two bowls later he was full.

sniffles
It was a good weekend until Liam came down with a really high fever yesterday...104. Off to urgent care we went. He was tested for the flu and scanned for pneumonia. Negative for both (thank the Lord). End result is a really nasty viral infection that will have to run it's course. So we spent today with lots of rest & snuggles. And me obsessing over Liam's temperature (which he has been fever free since midnight). Olive was in heaven to have Liam & lots of blankets to snuggle with.

lazy
I can hardly believe tomorrow is my birthday. I can
hardly believe that January is more than half way over. I can hardly
believe that I have been so lazy with this blog, with life, with
everything.
I feel like we have been on GO non stop since
01.01.13. Probably because we have been. We have been trying to fill our
time with fun stuff. Like…tubing down my parent’s front lawn,
going to
the museum to see the train display,
getting sucked into American Horror Story (season 1 is on Netflix. Andrew & I are hooked and I spend half the episode peeking over the blanket that is covering my eyes), playing with trains and making “train repairs” and simply enjoying each other.

Liam: “giggle, giggle”
Andrew: “Ha, looks like you got the ticklish genes”
Liam: “No, Daddy, these are my comfy pants, not my jeans”

resolutions in reveiw
Taking a looking back at last year's resolutions, I realized I did not do well with keeping or even remembering them:
1. Trim the fat- aka losing that debt that has been following me around for a bit. If all goes as planned, we should be credit card debt free in 2013.-This one I did keep & I am happy to say that a lot of progress has been made with this one. Still not 100% credit card debt free, but much closer to it & our savings account is much healthier. I need to give a little bit of thanks to our financial guy who has made us even more determined to reach our financial goals.
2. Trim the fat- aka losing some weight & getting healthier. I need to begin to treat my body & mind better. 2012 will be the year (seriously). I get a big fat F for this goal...
3. Ride the bike. Can't wait to spring ahead so I can get out in the mornings and ride the bike. Goal is 300 miles this summer. I didn't even come close to 300 miles. I have a bunch of excuses I could give ...but really, I didn't do it! & this would have been an easy one.
4. Recycle, more. For a family of 3 + a dog, I feel like we create way too much garbage. Lots more recycling, reusing and less waste. We have made a better effort with this, but I know we can do even better.
This year's resolutions TBD....
a quick recap
Oh, 2012...I must admit, I am pretty happy that you came to an end. You were a tough year. You gave us some obstacles and experiences that I hope we never have to endure again.
