a natural

Liam's first swim lesson was a success. He loved it! He kicked, splashed and was very serious about being in the water. He seemed comfortable in the pool and loved to kick those legs.

These two guys just melt my heart.

Andrew may have had more fun than Liam.

flash friday

Another week down. I think I almost see a little white something in Liam's mouth...although I have thought this before. He has been making this "squished" face with his mouth (which I have not caught on camera yet) and has been sticking his tongue out. So those two things make me believe that a little toofer may be popping through soon.

We are starting off our three day weekend with dinner with Jeff & Robyn. Liam wants to give Baby Sanders a pep talk to encourage him to stay in the womb for as long as possible (I may or may not have promised Liam something special if he can encourage Baby Sanders to not make his big debut until the birth date I have predicted, but more importantly to stay in to make sure he is a happy and healthy baby). Then Saturday Liam starts swim "lessons"- photos to follow, of course! And the remainder of the weekend is resting, catching up on some chores that have been neglected and just family time. Maybe some fireworks & ice cream, too.

Oh, here is another skill Liam is mastering...

P.S. As of this morning, Liam independently pulled himself up to a standing position!

1st week

The first week at the new daycare was pretty successful. He is getting use to the new place, the new people and the new kids. I am also getting use to all things new. I guess Liam has more interest in the older kids there than the ones closer to his age. So much more interested that he decided to start crawling on his third day there. An attempt to show off his skills to impress the other boys.

I am happy that he is adjusting so well to the new place and is welcomed every morning with open arms. Something we both grew very accustomed to at his previous daycare. I am sure I will continue to compare the new to the old, but I am also hopeful that the new will (and has so far) meet all my expectations...just like the old.

Over the weekend we introduced Liam to the game of baseball. We went out to support our local Tri-City Valley Cats and we wanted to see what Liam thought about the cracking of the bat. Andrew got his hands on some sweet tickets....first row right behind home base. I have to say, despite the hot, humid weather, Liam did pretty fantastic. I do think he may have been more interested in the group of funny, old men who sat behind us than the game, but really these guys were funny. I think there will be plenty more baseball games in Liam's future.

A busy, busy week. We started the week off with a cruise on the Captain JP for Father's Day. Then Liam started his new daycare. Liam turned 7 months this week and he decided he was ready to start crawling. Overall, a good week!

2 for 1

Liam crawled today. It happened at daycare and then again and again and again tonight. Not only did he impress us with his awesome crawling skills, but then he decided to add a cherry on top. He crawled over to his little bin that has his toys in it. After a few failed attempts, he some how managed to put both is arms on the bin, pull himself up so he was kneeling on his knees and then attempted to pull himself up to a standing position. It looked more like the plank yoga position:

And then it all ended. He rolled over and got frustrated. But I must say that Andrew and I were pretty proud, amazed and a little anxious. Liam rocks crawls!!!

7 months

Happy 7th Month, Liam! You have changed so much this past month. Your face has changed, you are growing into your features. You are really just a beautiful little boy. I am also amazed at how much you look like my Grandpa Jake. You look like him and of course have those beautiful blue eyes that he passed onto my mom, who passed them to me and now to you.

You are trying so hard to crawl. You can stand up with some assistance & will even hold on to something to keep your balance. You love to laugh, have conversations in your own little language with your reflection in the mirror and of course you love to gibber jabber with me and your dad.

You have the concept of eating down for the most part. You really do enjoy your fruits! You have also graduated to the big bath tub. You love to lay on your belly and splash in the water. Your dad and I can not wait to see what you do when you start your swim "lessons".

Liam, this month has been fantastic! You are just getting more and more amazing...making me more and more proud to be your mama. I love you, Liam!
